Humanitarian aid to Lebanon from VIANEX

In a spirit of solidarity and practical support for disaster victims, VIANEX has once again made a significant contribution with aid initiatives aimed at improving conditions and providing essential assistance to those who are suffering.

At the invitation of the Greek Government and the Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Technology (IFET), which are gathering pharmaceuticals and medical supplies in solidarity with the Lebanese people and the continued provision of humanitarian assistance in the country, the leading Greek pharmaceutical company VIANEX sent a substantial quantity of pharmaceuticals to Lebanon, thus contributing to the global effort to provide relief for the victims.

Following the appalling deadly explosion that struck the port of Beirut on 4 August 2020, and its devastating consequences in terms of loss of human life, with thousands of injured as well as incalculable material and environmental damage, Greece responded immediately to the request of the authorities for help, and decided to stand again in solidarity with the Lebanese people and continue to provide humanitarian assistance to the country. The transport of the second wave of aid to Lebanon by the Greek government will be undertaken by the tank landing ship Ikaria in the first weeks of September.
