VIANEX, the leading Greek pharmaceutical company, continues to actively support couples facing reproductive and financial difficulties, in cooperation with the non-profit association Be-Live. As part of the renewal of the cooperation, VIANEX “has adopted” the island of Patmos for a whole year, supporting the island's couples in their efforts to become parents.
With “responsibility” being the cornerstone of the Group's philosophy and progress, VIANEX has been working with the Be-Live association since September 2020. In fact, it fully adopted the association’s work on the island of Samos, offering couples the chance to turn to IVF and to cover the cost of the necessary procedures. This year, the company is expanding its offer to the island of Patmos, so that every child who was loved before it was even born can come into this world.
It is worth noting that the Samos program has already brought about positive results. The first couple from Samos who addressed the association held their baby in their arms in July and a few days ago, and the second baby from the program was born in January 2021.
Mr. Dimitris P. Giannakopoulos, President and CEO of the VIANEX Group, had the following to say about this: “Our Group stands firmly next to society and people, with a high sense of responsibility, respect and practical contribution through multidimensional actions and activities. With a special sensitivity for the outlying regions of Greece, after adopting Samos we are particularly proud to support the couples of Patmos together with the Be-Live program. So that we give more people the chance to become parents and hold their own baby in their arms.”
The founders of the non-profit association Be-Live, Mr. Vassilis Kellaris and Haris Chiniadis, sated the following on the cooperation with VIANEX: “At Be-Live we try, through IVF, to make the dream of a family come true, even for couples who thought their dream was lost. The data on infertility in Greece also show the severity of the problem: There are estimated to be 250-300,000 infertile couple, representing 18%-20% of the population, and every year 12,000-15,000 IVF cycles are performed in Greece. We are particularly happy that our collaboration with VIANEX is expanding and we are now working together and undertaking to support couples in Patmos who turn to us”.
The non-profit association Be-Live (www.be-live.gr ) was founded in 2019 by the reproductive gynecologists Vassilis D. Kellaris and Haris Ch. Chiniadis. The Be-Live team consists of experienced professionals from fields including medicine, health sciences, finance, communications, and elsewhere. In addition, Be-Live’s activities are strengthened by the participation of volunteers, companies, sponsors and friends. Be-Live has developed partnerships in Attica and in more remote areas, as well as in the provinces and on islands, in order to enhance its work regarding access to all assisted reproductive methods, offering hope to infertile couples who do not have the financial capacity to cover the costs of in vitro fertilization.
