Vianex

PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANY Member of the Giannakopoulos Group

Plant D

VIANEX acquired Plant D from IFET (Institute of Pharmaceutical Research and Technology) in 1999. The company identified a need for an independent production unit for cephalosporin products, and this led to the plant’s initial operation in 2001 as one of the most sophisticated of the few units of this type operating in Europe at the time.

Plant D’s design principles were concerned with product safety, the minimisation of cephalosporin cross contamination, including at the final blister pack stage, employee health and safety, environmental protection and the implementation of current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs).

The plant’s continued full compliance with the latest requirements of Greek (EOF), European Legislation and global certification agencies, has ensured its ISO 9001:2000 certification. Many international pharmaceutical groups have entrusted VIANEX and Plant D with the exclusive production for export around the world.
