VIANEX Group upgrades the Multipurpose Regional Clinic of Megisti (Kastellorizo)
Wednesday, 04 November 2020 15:00In line with our commitment to offer assistance to less privileged groups of citizens, the VIANEX Group also supports the quality of life on the remote island of Kastellorizo.
In particular, it considerably upgraded the capabilities of the Multipurpose Regional Clinic of Megisti, supplying additional medical equipment and medical supplies.
As part of the donation, VIANEX supplied a new electric generator, a TRIPLEX heart machine and a dental radiographic machine for intra-oral x-rays, as well as pharmaceutical supplies. The company also provided other medical supplies (masks, antiseptics, alcohol) to better supply the clinic as part of the measures taken to address the pandemic. This significant donation aims to cover the immediate medical needs of the inhabitants of the remote island.
Dimitris P. Giannakopoulos, Chairman of the Board and CEO of VIANEX Group, had this to say about the VIANEX donation: "At VIANEX, it is our commitment to actively support Greek society, from one end of Greece to the other. Today, when the reinforcement of healthcare structures is a national priority, especially in the most remote geographical areas, we stand by the inhabitants of historic Kastellorizo. Because better medical technology means more security. Individually, but also for the whole local community."
The Mayor of Megisti (as Kastellorizo is officially known) Mr Giorgos Sampsakos thanked VIANEX and Mr Giannakopoulos for the donation, saying among other things: "This is a commendable private initiative by VIANEX and Mr Giannakopoulos. It shows high moral commitment, a sense of social solidarity and also national awareness. In a time full of daily challenges for our remote island, all forms of material support offer extra security and hope for the people of our community".
